In the news: KFC's Branded Game Console Keeps Chicken Warm

KFC originally announced the development of its fully functional branded video game console in June, and most people figured it was another marketing gimmick. Besides, it seemed unlikely that a console could be paired with a warming device, given the limitations heat puts on technology.

KFConsole

Through a partnership with Cooler Master, KFC created a video game console that essentially doubles as a personal chef. Their trick is “a unique, custom-built internal cooling system to extract system heat through around the outside of the chicken chamber, ensuring that the hardware is kept at a regular core temperature while simultaneously delivering a piping-hot meal.”

“Moving forward from our initial teaser campaign earlier this year, we’re so pleased to finally give the fans exactly what they wanted: making the KFConsole a reality,” Mark Cheevers, PR and Social Media Lead at KFC U.K. and Ireland, mentioned in a press release. “We all know the console war is vicious, but we’re very confident in the KFConsole as our flagship entry. This machine is capable of running games at top-level specs, all on top of keeping your meal warm for you to enjoy during your gaming experience ... what’s not to like? If Sony or Microsoft want any tips on how to engineer a chicken chamber for their efforts next time, they’d be welcome to get in touch.”

“When we were approached by KFC Gaming to make the KFConsole, we jumped at the chance to get involved and enter the console war,” Stephen James, Global PR and Influencer Manager at Cooler Master commented. “The KFConsole has been custom built with the gamer at the front of mind. The last thing we want is anyone to go hungry while playing!”
